Becca & Reid
(Late) Vacation Pictures
Mon, 10/05/2009 - 9:44pm — RichardWe spent a great week with the Frees hiking, swimming at the Panaca Pond, geocaching, riding four-wheelers, picnicking at Yankee Meadows, riding bikes, eating from the garden, attending the St. George Temple, shooting Grandpa's new pistol, chopping a bow from just the right kind of stick, and plain ol' hanging around.
In case you don't have Facebook, here is a link to some pictures from our week with Grandpa and Grandma back in July.

Congratulations, Dave!
Mon, 07/28/2008 - 8:28am — Rebecca CluffSo there I was, wandering around the BYU Bookstore, thinking about the candy counter, and what did I see? "Jee's Bones" right in front of me on the shelf! I was so proud to think, "I know the author!" so I just had to take a picture! I walked down the row and found "Journey of the Heart," so that got a picture, too. I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't finished "Journey" yet, but Reid and I are reading it together, so that's a little more difficult. Anyway, we both enjoy it so far, and I can't wait to see how everything ends up.
Congratulations on achieving a dream, Dave - what a great example to all of not giving up on something that is really important to you.
P.S. Will you sign my book for me? :)

Fall Fun
Mon, 11/12/2007 - 3:29pm — melindaI have had a wonderful first half of November! With the help of the Hord family, I was able to fly down to AZ and surprise my family on the 1st. On Friday, I went on the Father/Daughter campout with my Dad and sister (you can see a picture of them with some of the YUMMY teryaki sauce we picked up on the way). It was fun to spend time with my family and visit my home ward (and mission prep class...it is the BEST). Joseph and Elizabeth Hord were also down there that weekend (trying out for the Easter Pageant). The three of us flew back to Salt Lake on the same flight and got lunch together (Wendy's) after arriving back in Provo.
This past weekend, Becca and Reid were able to fly out for a visit. Some family friends hosted a baby shower for Becca, and it was a lot of fun. Reid's mom did the food, so of course it was amazing, and they have a lot of great people there. They also had a really fun and creative activity at the shower. There were several plain white onesies and special fabric markers for people to use in decorating them! It was great! I took a couple pictures of Lauren's masterpiece. Ü
Today, I got to go with Becca to the BYU Museum of Art (one of our favorite places to be...lots of good memories Ü). You can see a picture of us in front of the building that a nice girl (enjoying her lunch on a bench nearby) was nice enough to take for us. We looked at almost everything in the building, and we also got to visit briefly with two of her (well, our) former art history professors. We then headed across the street to meet up with Reid for lunch and ice cream (delicious, of course!) at the BYU Creamery. Happy day! ...And a beautiful one. I am also including a couple shots of the fall leaves and blue sky taken today in the courtyard of my building.
I hope you are all having a fun fall!

Nelson's Visit to Colorado Springs
Wed, 08/22/2007 - 3:36am — RichardOur vacation this year was to visit Rebecca and Reid in Colorado Springs, CO. It was great to have all of our family in one place and to hang out watching movies, swimming in the hotel pool, eating, playing games. We were able to see the Cluff's new-to-them home and to do some painting around their home (Rebecca employed some Tom Sawyer moves for that).
Jean and Evan recently moved to Colorado Springs, too, and live in the same ZIP code as Rebecca. We visit them Monday night and let everyone get reacquainted. Friday we fajitas with their family, played Apples to Apples (Mary Ann beat us all), and watched High School Musical 2 at two different times. Even though Evan was working in Dallas, TX, for most of the week only to be asked to go to South Africa on Friday, he and Jean treated Marilee and Richard to wonderful lunch at the Broadmoor. We spent three hours eating lunch and talking about jobs, kids, and how to solve the world's problems.
We didn't take many pictures, but we share them here.
Pre-MTC Party for Justin
Thu, 05/24/2007 - 7:24am — joefreeHere are a few pictures of all those who have good wishes and admiration for Justin as he enters the MTC.
We had a lovely family Home evening in Rosanna and Pedro's house. Marilee and her girls sang "Sweet is the work" with their beautiful voices blending wonderfully. That set me up to teach the lesson on fear faith and the spirit. Justy is such a good example of humility, like Mike, that it was easy to show how being filled with charity will make them fearless as he enters into the unknown, possibly fearful, work of teaching the gospel. It was also easy to show by his example that remission of sins brings the gift of the Holy Ghost which in turns gives the gift of charity. In that audience it was natural to testify of the invitation of the the savior for all, no matter their transgressions, to come to him and become clean. We had a nice outpouring of the spirit.
Amazingly the member of the Mission Presidency who came to set Justy apart was our Mission President when we were in the Rochester Mission. That made his setting apart very special. Interesting how the Lord blesses us continually.
