Chad's Birthday Video

Well, it may be a little late, but I finally figured out how to share this great video I made for Chad's birthday...I think... :) Hey, I'm pretty impressed with myself, considering that I have never used iMovie or YouTube before last week! Thank you very much to those who contributed their thoughts and memories of Chad.

Here is the link to the video (I tried to attach the video, but was unsucessful):

Happy Birthday Melinda!

Happy Birthday Melinda!

I was just looking at my last "roll" of pictures from my digital camera and found this one, so this is kind of late, but...Happy Birthday Melinda! Melinda has been a great example to me and others. She always smiles and carries the Spirit with her. I enjoy going to the Mission Prep class with her. She is so awesome! Love ya, sis!

P.S. Happy Birthday Elder Jopes!

Pun Intended

Yesterday was my friend Paul's birthday. He and his roommate Derek are great friends, former missionary companions (served in Tucson, AZ), and current home teaching companions (they teach me and my roommates). One thing they share in common is a love of puns.

I have always liked puns, but being around these guys has made me really love puns. So...for Paul's birthday, I decided to make him a card based on a pun and give him a list of puns I found on the internet.

The card went something like this (with illistrations and fun lettering Ü):
So it was my birthday. I had a big party, and my friend made me a birhtday cake. He brought it out, and it was a savory cake. It had a doughy base with cheese and all sorts of toppings sprinkled on top. I said, "That must have taken a lot of effort to make." And he said...

(then on the inside...)
... "No, it was a pizza cake."

Heee heeee heeee! Ü

A couple of my favorites:
* A rubber band pistol was confiscated from algebra class because it was a weapon of math disruption.
* He said I was average - but he was just being mean.
* When the smog lifts in Los Angeles, U C L A.

Kent's Baptism

Kent's Baptism

Kent was baptized in the ocean on October 8th.
This is the same beach that we took pics of before, but the wind was blowing and the ocean was quite a bit more rough. It rained all night the night before, and started raining as we left, but during the baptism itself the clouds parted and we were able to have a great service.
After he was baptized, Kent bore a great testimony, about how he believes the church is true, was thankful for all of the branch members coming so far for him, and he wants to grow up to be like Jesus.
He is growing up to be a great kid in spite of his parents!
Anna has a lot more pics she wants to post, and lots of comments, so I will just post this one and let her post more later. She even has a surprise she found on the beach! stay tuned..
(she had signed on hoping to post, but wasn't able to before bed time)

Adam is five

Adam is five

Adam turned five and he couldn't be more happy. He got lots of fun presents and Melinda made his cake complete with lava flowing and one dead dinosaur, with blood! Sounds like something a brother would put there not a sister!

Birthday Shirts

Birthday Shirts

Mike and I received shirts for our birthday and had a request to post them. So here they are. Mike with his Wisconsin Sponge Bob and me with Napoleon Dynamite's shirt. Let me just add that "Pedro offers you his protection"!

Daniel turns 12!

Daniel turns 12!

Today Daniel turned twelve. Here he is reading the emails from his wonderful missionary grandparents in Chile and South Africa. He enjoyed the presents and his french toast for breakfast. For dinner he wanted breakfast burritos...so the smell of bacon was in our home tonight...aaahhhh!
