Sunday Thinking.....

"Live the gospel every day, practice it, and studay it regularly; do not let the affairs of the day that deal with the making of our temporal living crowd aside matters that pertain to the gospel....(CR, October 1943, John A. Widtsoe)

As I consider the course that my life has taken from being a son to being a elder to being a husband to now being a father........I see the times when my prioities have waivered from following those that seek the lord first, to follwoing those who are good men but do not have the lord first in there lives.....I see the winding that I have done and of courss, the hardest time is when you have discovered that the course needs to be corrected......The uphill battle is tough! Falling is easy, anyone can do that....Staying strong can be tough, if we make it tough! I seem to have a knack for finding the hardest way of doing things....period.......
The following quote from Elder Bradford seems to say it best......

“Many things are only interesting and enticing, while other things are important. . . The limits of time dictate that we must prioritize what we do . . . As we make these choices, we might consider that the glitter and excitement of festive, fun-filled [service] projects are interesting, but the shut-ins, the lonely, the handicapped, the homeless, the latchkey kids, and the abandoned aged are important.
Worldly magazines, tabloids, and much of the multi-mass media mess of fast track information we are receiving is interesting and enticing, but the scriptures are important.
The RV’s and TV’s and retirement ease make it interesting to wander and play, but people’s needs for selfless deeds are important. There is concern that “wander and play” have replaced “ponder and pray.”
A focus on fashion and getting and spending and the accumulation of things for our enjoyment and comfort is interesting and enticing, but a focus on devoting one’s means and time and one’s very self to the cause of proclaiming the gospel is important.
The meetings and materials and planning are all interesting, but the doing is important.”
Ensign, Nov 1987, William R Bradford

I wanted to thank you all for patience and caring for me and my family, there are not words to express how important it has been to us......

Savannah doing what she does best cheesing a big smile!

Savannah is generally a happy toddler. She has been learning sign language lately and now can sign "drink", "eat", and "more". We are amazed how well she picked up on sign language so quickly and it makes life a lot easier now that she can communicate her basic needs through basic signs.

Audrey and Brett sitting around the fire roasting mellows in the secret fire pit @ Matt's

Here is Audrey and Brett partaking in the ritual "Free Family Retarded Fire" the explanation of the name came from Brett and I's ineptness at lighting a simple fire with out using "magic water". It has since become a tradition of sunday self mockery. enjoy!
